Silk
– fibre with thermal insulation (maintains body
heat); flexible; does not strain; resistant to creasing;
very soft, light and comfortable; resistant to dirt;
low resistance; looses colour with perspiration and
when exposed to direct sunlight; low resistance to
moths and other insects; very demanding care in terms
of washing and treatment. Silk fabrics: crepe de chine,
taffeta, shantung, organza.
